Ancestry.com’s Mobile App Downloaded One Million Times
Released near the beginning of 2010, Ancestry.com’s Mobile App for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch has surpassed the one million download mark. One-third of those one million downloads have occurred during the past two months and more than half of the downloads also come from users new to Ancestry.com.
The mobile app provides a great way to update your family tree on the go, or to share your history without having to carry around a computer. Using your iPhone or iPad 2, you can instantly upload photos you take of your relatives or historical documents. Just download the free app and signup for a Ancestry.com account and you’re ready to begin mapping your family history.
Here’s a few of the great reviews the free Ancestry.com app is receiving:
“I’ve never written a review but as a historical family researcher this is a great app. I have everything I need in one place while attending family reunions, visiting cemeteries, court houses and libraries! It allows me to make changes on the spot and share information with other relatives. Bravo!” – K. Williams
“This is a great app! I love working on our family tree. And now I can have it with me to show to others. I was always forgetting a name or position on the tree. Now I just pull it up on my iPhone and get it right!!” – K. Noni
Ocean Media has helped Ancestry.com grow into the world’s largest online family history resource with our innovative media buying services. Twenty million family trees have been created and more than six billion records have been uploaded to Ancestry.com during its existence.
