Care.com, a media planning and buying client of Ocean Media, recently had its Founder and CEO Sheila Lirio Marcelo named to the World Economic Forum’s 2011 list of ‘Young Global Leaders.’
With headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, The World Economic Forum has been around since 1971 as a non-profit with no political affiliations. Being named to the Young Global Leaders list recognizes a person’s professional accomplishments, commitment to society and the potential to contribute to shaping the future.
From a pool of over 5000 candidates, 190 global leaders from 65 countries were chosen for this year’s list, representing leaders from Business, Civil Society, Social Entrepreneurs, politics, the arts and media. This year’s list was as gender-balanced as ever before, with 44% women.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join such a diverse and innovative community of global thought-leaders,” said Ms. Marcelo. ”I look forward to actively participating in the cultivation of cutting edge ideas and to further support global efforts that will directly impact the future of our world economy, including lending my voice and action to increase opportunities for women in the workplace by finding a sustainable solution to enable them to balance childcare and family care while still achieving success and higher positions of power.”
Care.com is the largest and fastest growing service around to find caregivers for everything from child care to senior care and pet care. Ocean Media is proud to have such an upstanding company as a client and has helped them grow through our media planning and buying services much as we have other internet-based companies such as Priceline and Overstock.
