The NCAA Tournament ad rates are in, and they’re looking mighty impressive. Even though there’s no clear cut favorite to win the title, and no real breakout college stars as we’ve seen in the past, CBS sold out the game’s ad space for around $1.4 million for a thirty second spot (a new record for the event). As we’ve seen in the past, expect to see a ton of automobile commercials during the games!
While the Super Bowl and NFL playoffs may get more press for their ad costs, the NCAA Tournament actually generates more ad revenue for its TV networks. Last year, March Madness resulted in more than $1 billion in TV ad sales!
